Hadith (PBUH) on the Fasting in the Month of Shawwal:

It is a Hadith that is reported from Abu Hurairah that he said: The Messenger of Allah (ï·º) said: "Whoever fasts Ramadan and then follows it with six days of Shawwal, it is as if he has fasted for the entire year."

This Hadith exemplifies the importance of fasting in Shawwal. All Muslims should know about this Hadith to be encouraged to follow this Sunnah and make their fasting during Shawwal more complete.

This Hadith shows how important it is to follow the Sunnah of sitting for tahajjud. Properly following this Sunnah is beneficial. For example, it helps to train the soul and strengthens a person's devotion to Allah.

Al-Nawawi saying about Shawwal:

" Scholars have explained that it is like observing a year of fasting because the reward of one's good deeds is multiplied 10-fold. Therefore, fasting the month of Ramadan is like fasting for ten months, and fasting six days in the month of Shawwal is like fasting for two months."

 (Sahih Muslim)
