Fasting during this month helps us become more pious and aware of our sins, and it also teaches us about patience and humility. Muslims are also encouraged to give charity during Shawwal, as this month is considered a time of generosity.

Hadith (PBUH) on the Fasting in the Month of Shawwal:

It is a Hadith that is reported from Abu Hurairah that he said: The Messenger of Allah (ï·º) said: "Whoever fasts Ramadan and then follows it with six days of Shawwal, it is as if he has fasted for the entire year."

This Hadith shows how important it is to follow the Sunnah of sitting for tahajjud. Properly following this Sunnah is beneficial. For example, it helps to train the soul and strengthens a person's devotion to Allah.

Al-Nawawi saying about Shawwal:

" Scholars have explained that it is like observing a year of fasting because the reward of one's good deeds is multiplied 10-fold. Therefore, fasting the month of Ramadan is like fasting for ten months, and fasting six days in the month of Shawwal is like fasting for two months."

 (Sahih Muslim)
